The multi-awarded and renowned photo artist worked for magazines such as STERN, SPIEGEL, TIME, Vanity Fair, GEO, National Geographic, Zeitmagazin, FAZ-Magazin and SZ-Magazin.

In addition to publishing more than 70 books and monographs his comprehensive OEUVRE has also been acknowledged in numerous national and international solo exhibitions.

Dieter Blum not only set the tone of the photographic image of the MARLBORO advertizing campaigns but also for well known industrial enterprises such as DAIMLER, Porsche, Shell, ABB, Bilfinger, Festo and Jaeger-leCoultre.

Among the great many awards he received he was awarded in 1982 with the 1stPrize of the “World Press Photo” for his documentation on the Berliner Philharmoniker and their conductor / director Herbert von Karajan as well as three (3) “photokina Obelisks”

In 2015 Blum was awarded in Paris with the Médaille Vermeil de Art-Science-Lettres for his life`s work.

Dieter Blum (*1936) lives and works in Düsseldorf.
